About the Event
Welcome to Fail Better presents Dry July, a social construct gig that will leave you as parched as an arctic monkey in the Sahara begging for a refreshing rainstorm.
Watching the musical concoction of Olanza, The Meat Sweaters, Thee Alcoholics and Claw Machine will be almost certaintly a different experience to watching paint dry.
If you are still unsure what to do on a scorching evening of the 6th of July, why not to come to The Prince Albert and check whether your taste buds are ready for a musical journey through the deli, beverages, pharmacy and gambling sections.
OLANZA
Instrumental three-piece Olanza have long explored the interplay between loud winding guitar work, levelling bass riffs and heavy technical drum rhythms. Aron (Repo Man, Harpoon) Shaun (Five Knuckle, Fuk) and new bassist Jodi (Shot Gun Sun) take the intricate post rock of Polvo into the weightier region of Harvey Milk and Lungfish. The most recent self-titled album was recorded with Wayne Adams (Bear Bites Horse) at Giant Wafer, Wales and released through Brighton based label Human Worth.
FFO: Polvo, Harvey Milk, Lungfish, All things that are RAD

THEE ALCOHOLICS
Shape shifting south London noise rock outfit Thee Alcoholics have been not so quietly releasing a handfull of sell out tape eps and 7” singles for a couple of years now. Songs that rail against injustice, intolerance and institutionalised Great British apathy – neatly wrapped around screeching, trash guitar riffs and blast beat driven bass synths.Mixing the gnarly, outsider big muff energy of early Tad and Mudhoney with the industrial crush repetition of Godflesh. Ugly vocals are buried somewhere between the Brainbombs and Girls Against Boys.
